Orlando Melbourne International Airport Awarded #1 Approach in the US

May 1, 2017

Orlando Melbourne International Airport (MLB) has been awarded a spot on PrivateFly’s Top 10 Most Scenic Airport Landings of 2017. Among thousands of other airports, MLB was the only U.S. airport to land on the coveted roster, making it the No. 1 Most Scenic Airport Landing in the U.S., and  No. 8 Most Scenic Airport Landing in the world.

MLB shares the limelight with airports across the globe, including Saba’s Juancho E. Yrausquin Airport (SAB)[ No. 1] and the U.K.’s London City Airport (LCY)[No. 6]. Side by side with MLB on the list is the Caribbean’s St. Maarten Airport (SXM)[No. 7], famous for its adrenaline-filled low approaches over Maho Beach. Also awarded was Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ)[No. 10], linked to MLB with seasonal nonstop service via Porter Airlines.

“MLB offers an awe-inspiring welcome before you even land, with a warm, coastal headwind accompanied by an endless view of our breathtaking beaches.” said Greg Donovan, AAE, executive director of Orlando Melbourne International Airport (MLB).  “Depending on where you’re inbound from, you’ll catch sight of NASA’s Kennedy Space Center and rocket launch pads, or a Disney ship departing Port Canaveral on its way to the Caribbean.”
