Albany International Airport Traffic Increases in 2016

Passenger enplanements at Albany International Airport increased by 8.5 percent during 2016.  A total of 1,407,434 passengers departed the Airport during the last year.  When combined with deplanements, a total of 2,818,013 passengers traveled through the Albany International Airport during 2016.

“Albany International Airport continues to be the fastest growing airport in upstate New York,” said Rev. Kenneth Doyle, chairman of the Albany County Airport Authority. “As we enter 2017, we look forwarded to making several improvements that will support our airlines and add to our passengers’ experience.”

The 2016 figures marked the largest passenger volume since 2007 when enplanements reached 1,442,821.  Passenger traffic dropped off significantly during the great recession of 2008. Albany International Airport’s 2016 enplanements by carrier are as follows:
