Norfolk International Airport Reports on October Activity

Norfolk International Airport (ORF) reported a 0.72 percent increase in passenger activity for the month of October 2016 with 272,053 passengers despite numerous cancellations caused by Hurricane Matthew. This figure compares to an October 2015 passenger count of 270,121. October marks the 17th consecutive month of year-over-year growth at ORF. For the January - October 2016 period, passenger activity has increased 6.02 percent versus the corresponding period in 2015.

In other activity, 5,510,288 pounds of cargo were shipped in and out of the airport during October. This represents a 3.23 percent increase versus October 2015, which saw 5,337,625 pounds of cargo shipped. For the January - October period, cargo activity has increased 8.82 percent versus the corresponding period in 2015.

The above-mentioned figures are a reflection of the service by the following scheduled airlines: American, Delta, Southwest, United and their regional airline partners. All-cargo carriers include FedEx, UPS and Mountain Air Cargo.
