Furry travelers at Denver International Airport (DEN) can now find a little “relief” while on the concourses, with today’s opening of three new pet relief areas throughout the airport.

The pet relief rooms are conveniently located in the centers of concourses A, B and C. The rooms are the airport’s first pet relief areas located post security.

“We know that many of our passengers travel with their service animals or their beloved pets,” airport CEO Kim Day said. “Opening these relief rooms on the concourses will provide those furry companions with a comfortable and welcoming area to take care of business before or after a flight.”

The rooms all feature artificial turf flooring, with a drainage system and an artificial rock. Because owners are asked to clean up afterward, bags and disposal containers are also provided. The rooms also include a wall-mounted sink, recessed soap dispenser, automatic hand dryer and paper towel dispenser. To bring the outdoors in, each room features a wall mural showcasing dogs enjoying Colorado’s great outdoors. The design of the rooms allow for a sanitary environment by making cleaning easy and efficient.

There is also an existing pre-security, outdoor pet relief area, located just outside door 200 on the west side of the Jeppesen Terminal. All pet relief areas are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
