Commercial Flights Cancelled at Gainesville Regional Airport Due to Hurricane Matthew

Oct. 6, 2016

Both American Airlines and Delta Airlines are cancelling flights at Gainesville Regional Airport (GNV) due to the approach of Hurricane Matthew.

American Airlines’ twice daily flights to Miami were cancelled Thursday through Oct. 8.

American Airlines will service all flights to and from Charlotte on Thursday, but the three Friday flights are cancelled. The first departure to Charlotte on Saturday is cancelled due to no aircraft being kept at GNV due to the storm.

Delta Airlines has cancelled the last two arrivals to GNV on Thursday, October 06, 2016 and no aircraft will be left at GNV during the storm.

Delta cancelled seven departures/arrivals on Friday which impacts the first flight available on Saturday.

At this time, it is expected that flights will resume on normal schedules by midmorning on Saturday, October 8, 2016 with the first scheduled arrivals when aircraft return to the area. This should be 10:26am for American Airlines and 11:15am for Delta.

However, travelers should monitor information from their airline for updated information. These times are subject to change with conditions.
