SBA: Alaska Airlines to Fly Embraer 175 Aircraft

Oct. 5, 2016

Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) announced that Alaska Airlines will start flying brand-new Embraer EMB 175 aircraft to Seattle and Portland starting Oct. 5. The EMB 175 is replacing the 70-seat Bombardier CRJ 700 aircraft flown by Alaska system-wide, including on the popular Seattle and Portland routes. The new aircraft offers passengers an upgraded travel experience with a larger cabin and 76 comfortably wide seats.  It also offers passengers three levels of service with seating available in First Class, Preferred Plus and Coach.

“Inside the new cabin, we know that Alaska travelers flying to Seattle and Portland will enjoy the upgrades of inflight Wi-Fi access and the Alaska Beyond Entertainment hub. And to the exterior, the new aircraft is equipped with fuel-saving wingtips which improve aerodynamics in flight and reduce CO2 emissions,” said Hazel Johns, airport director.
