The Rouge Valley International—Medford Airport has seen 23 straight months of passengers. July ended with the highest number of passengers ever, with a total count of 81,048. Month-to-month, July surpassed July 2015’s 76,174 by almost 6 percent. Year-to-date the airport us up nearly 10 percent.
“As we move forward through the year, airport staff are estimating a third record year with over a quarter million passengers coming and going out of Medford,” said Kim Stearns, airport public information officer. “Historically, July and August are typically our best months, so we’re anticipating a record August, but I don’t want to jinx anything. We have a great community and it’s because of them that we’re breaking records.”
