Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport increased in April as compared with April 2015. In April, the Airport served 890,723 passengers, an increase of 7.9 percent when compared with the April 2015 passenger traffic count of 825,628.
Commercial aircraft operations increased 11.6 oercent and commuter aircraft operations decreased 64.0 percent when compared with April 2015 levels.
Total aircraft operations increased in April 2016 as compared with the same month in 2015. In April, there were 24,219 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), a 15.2 percent increase compared to 21,031 total aircraft operations in April 2015.
General aviation activity, which accounted for 68.9 percent of the total aircraft operations during April 2016, increased 18.9 percent when compared with April 2015.
The top three airlines in April 2016 based on passenger count were Southwest Airlines (435,261), American Airlines (134,728) and United Airlines (105,081).
