Jan. 28, 2016

Charlotte Douglas International Airport remains on target to break its 44.3 million passenger record that was set in 2014. Passenger traffic increased 1.5 percent to 41,203,597 travelers visiting the terminal January – November compared to the same time period in 2014. Final 2015 numbers will be released in February.

Operations remained steady overseeing 498,872 landings and departures January – November.

Cargo activity rose 1 percent to 122,637 tons of cargo moved at CLT through November.

International passenger traffic, however, dipped to 2,630,528 fliers (January – November) due to the previously announced realignment of international routes by American Airlines.

As part of the airport’s increasing service, American Airlines added nonstop flights from CLT to Springfield-Branson National Airport in Springfield, Mo. on Nov. 5.
