United Adding Nonstop Flights From SFO to Hollywood Burbank

Sept. 13, 2023

Sep. 12—Ahead of the winter travel season Bay Area travelers will soon see more flights between San Francisco and a popular Southern California airport.

United Airlines announced additional routes between San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Hollywood Burbank Airport, increasing the current schedule from four to six flights a day beginning in November. Tickets went on sale Saturday.

In July, Alaska announced the addition of three daily flights between SFO and Burbank beginning Dec. 14.

United's new schedule will continue through next year, according to the announcement. The airline plans to fly larger planes on the route during peak travel seasons and will offer a first-class option for the airline's premium customers.

The airline also plans to fly directly between SFO and Manila starting in October, the first U.S. airline to do so, a United spokesperson said.

In addition, United announced more domestic flights from San Francisco to several major cities including Atlanta, Nashville, Baltimore, Cleveland and Philadelphia.
