Terminal 3 at LAX Reopens After Suspicious Package Scare

Los Angeles International Airport's Terminal 3 was locked down for more than an hour late Sunday night due to a suspicious item, police said.

The package was discovered around 10 p.m., airport police said. Traffic was backed up on the upper departure level and was heavy on major routes into the airport as police investigated.

The airlines located at Terminal 3 are Delta, WestJet, Aeromexico and Aerolitora.

Near midnight, police determined that it was safe to reopen the terminal and traffic on the upper level resumed.

Police and airport officials had no further details on the suspicious package.
