Mauritania's authorities said on Thursday they have arrested a man who hijacked a plane and threatened to burn it, state news agency AMI reported.
The hijacker 'pretended' to be an American citizen and said he has an issue with Mauritania, the report added.
The targeted plane was an Embraer, which belongs to Mauritania Airlines, and the attack happened in Nouakchott-Oumtounsy International Airport.
Authorities reported no casualties or 'losses' during the whole incident.
