Albany Airport Names New Board Leader

Jan. 15—COLONIE — Albany International Airport announced Thursday that Samuel Fresina has been named chairman of the Albany County Airport Authority, which oversees the airport's operations.

Fresina is president of the New York State Professional Fire Fighters Association and has been on the airport authority board since 2017. He succeeds the Rev. Kenneth Doyle, whose term as chairman expired on Dec. 31.

Fresina previously was a full-time firefighter for the city of Albany, and as president of the firefighters association he oversees a multi-million dollar budget for the 18,000-member union.

Fresina has served as vice president of the local affiliate of the AFL-CIO and worked as a field services representative for

the International Association of Fire Fighters. He also is a member of the advisory board for the New York State Comptroller.
