MBS Airport will Lose Two Daily United Airlines Flights to Chicago Starting in April
MBS Airport will lose two of its three daily flights to Chicago on United Airlines starting in April.
Assistant Airport Director James Canders said the airport was told of the reduction in air service on Tuesday, March 17.
United was expected to reduce its flights to Chicago by one in April, Canders said, but current conditions surrounding the coronavirus apparently contributed to the decision to reduce service further at least for now.
MBS is served by just two airlines -- United and Delta airlines.
Earlier Tuesday, Bishop Airport in Flint also reported one airline -- American -- plans to reduce its departures to Chicago starting in April but other airlines are scheduled to continue current flight schedules.
Canders said the remaining United flight in April will depart at 6 a.m. and return at 9:30 p.m. daily.
MBS is owned by the city of Midland, Bay County and the city of Saginaw.
