Travelers using MidAmerica St. Louis Airport will soon begin paying for parking for the first time.
The Metro East Airport announced Monday that beginning April 2, it will implement paid parking for a maximum $5 a day. Parking will still be free for up to one hour and will cost $1 an hour up to the daily $5 maximum.
Noting that the parking fee is among the lowest in the region, the airport said the funds will help defray maintenance costs associated with maintaining the parking lots and provide funding for needed airport improvements.
