Senate Panel Unveils Aviation Bill With Consumer Protections, Drone Fix

A Senate panel introduced must-pass aviation legislation on Thursday that includes a slew of new consumer protections and a fix allowing the government to require recreational drone users to register their model aircraft.

The bipartisan bill, which would reauthorize the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) through 2021, also aims to speed up modernization efforts at the FAA and protect rural and general aviation interests.
