Kansas City International Airport Reports February Passenger Traffic

The City of Kansas City, Mo., Aviation Department reports that 810,762 passengers arrived and departed through Kansas City International Airport’s gates in February, a 1.3 percent increase from February 2019. Passenger boardings were up 1.6 percent, with a total of 404,947 boarded. For the year to date, total passengers in and out total 1,616,234, down 0.7 percent. Year-to-date passenger boardings are 810,100, down 0.3 percent.

Air cargo tonnages, which consist of both freight and mail transported by air, for all carriers at KCI were down 0.1 percent in February with a total of 15.6 million pounds handled. Year to date, 32.3 million pounds have been handled, down 1.6 percent. Air freight handled at KCI during February amounted to 15.1 million pounds, down 0.1 percent year-over-year. Year to date, air freight is down 1.3 percent with a total of 31.2 million pounds handled. Air mail for February was down 2.1 percent from February 2019 with 512,921 pounds handled. Air mail year to date for 2020 is down 7.7 percent from 2019 with 1.1 million pounds handled.

The number of peak-day scheduled aircraft departures for February 2020 was 156. Service was offered to 45 nonstop markets. There was an average of 35,929 arriving and departing seats available in the market each day. The all-cargo carriers reported 4 daily departures for February.
