Beijing, February 18, 2016 – After last year’s announcement of HMSHost of entering China, the food & beverage operator expands its business at Beijing Capital International Airport with three new concepts in addition to the six existing concepts. Together with local partner Huazhuo, HMSHost created a solid base from which it intends to further expand at Beijing Airport and the East coast of China. The three locations are expected to generate sales of over € 20m over the five year contract for Heineken Bar and Urban Food Market and the six years for Du Hsiao Yueh. The concepts will open between Q4 2016 and Q1 2017.
At landside HMSHost will open a second Urban Food Market, a contemporary and trendy take-away concept, characterized through quick and dedicated service as well as an excellent product range that has proven to be successful in other international airports. Urban Food Market tempts travelers with prepackaged, high-end healthy food including but not limited to salads, sandwiches, fruits and vegetables, as well as healthy alternatives such as gluten-free snacks and low-fat-low-sugar items; yet what distinguishes the brand from other traditional to-go concepts is the mix of quality packaged products with an abundant display of fresh food items and in this location even a customized choice of hot items, such as local noodle- and recognized rice dishes.
A well-recognized brand in Taiwan and China, Du Hsiao Yueh, will open in Terminal 2 landside Mezzanine level. The restaurant chain, with over 100-years of unique noodle-making history, initially reached popularity through its trademark Dan-Tzai Noodles, known as a special combination of shrimp soup, bean sprouts, coriander, garlic paste, traditional vinegar made in Taiwan, noodles, as well as the brand’s signature minced pork paste. Today, Du Hsiao Yueh forms part of the so called ‘New Taiwan Cuisine’, which blends ingredients’ innovative and healthy characteristics with traditional recipes and cooking style methods.
HMSHost is committed to boosting traveler’s energy and soothing their frayed nerves by offering a true and iconic destination in form of a Heineken Bar and Café with a distinctive style element where travelers can experience the real and for already over 150-year renowned brewing tradition of what is today recognized as the world's most international premium beer brand: Heineken. Characterized through its very own authentic and recognizable environment, The Heineken Bar and Café is a friendly, welcoming and refreshing bar that features a great range of high quality and acclaimed beers, alongside an appetizing food menu with carefully sourced ingredients and great all day coverage. The contemporary, warm and inviting design creates a comfortable drinking and dining atmosphere, making it a great destination at Beijing Capital International Airport’s Terminal 2 Landside Mezzanine Facility.
