Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority OKs nearly $800,000 in contracts

New baggage system and parallel taxiway among the projects planned

July 31--LOWER SWATARA TWP. -- The Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority today awarded four new contracts totaling $796,330, according to a Harrisburg International Airport news release.

The federal, state and local funding also had previously been approved by the Federal Aviation Administration and the Pennsylvania Bureau of Aviation, said Scott Miller, HIA spokesman

According to the news release, the projects include:

_A contract for $104,500 to G and S Mechanical USA, Inc. in Wichita, Kan. for improvements to HIA's checked baggage system;

_A contract for $108,930 to Shannon A. Smith in Myerstown for a fire house generator at HIA;

_A contract for $567,900 to Valley Quarries, Inc. in Chambersburg to construct a parallel taxiway at Franklin County Regional Airport;

_A $15,000 contract with Glace Associates, Inc. in Camp Hill for emergency response professional services.
