July 25--Qassam Brigades, Hamas' military wing, has announced it shelled Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion airport with three rockets, the second attack in a week on the Israel's main international airport.
An Israeli military spokesperson confirmed that rockets were fired towards the airport from the Gaza Strip on Friday.
"We can confirm two rockets were shot down over metropolitan Tel Aviv," she told the AFP news agency.
A statement from the Palestinian armed group said: "At 11:45am (08:45 GMT), the Qassam Brigades bombarded Ben Gurion airport with three M75 rockets".
On Tuesday, a rocket struck near the airport's runways, effectively shutting Israeli air links to the outside world.
US and some European airlines had resumed flights on Thursday after a two-day suspension.
According to flight trackers, Air Canada flight AC84 appeared to have circled over southern Israel several times on Friday, unable to land in the airport.
Hamas claimed Tuesday's attack on the airport as a "victory" in the fighting with Israel, now in its 18th day.
The Israeli offensive on Gaza has so far claimed the lives of more than 800 Palestinians, including scores of children. It has also left more than 5,200 people injured.
Rockets fired from Gaza into Israel has killed two Israeli civilians and a Thai migrant worker. The fighting also killed 32 Israeli soldiers.
