Oct. 09--Air travel passengers flying in and out of Theodore Roosevelt Regional Airport are only days away from no longer needing to be bussed to and from their plane.

During the regular monthly Airport Authority Commission meeting Tuesday at Dickinson City Hall, airport manager Matthew Remynse reported the ramp expansion project would likely be completed and ready for use by the middle of this month.

Taking advantage of Tuesday morning's sunny weather, workers began pouring concrete for the new ramp, which will allow for taxiway usage from the runway to the airport's terminal.

"We're looking at about seven days of cure time after they pour," Remynse said. "For the full ramp to be ready for use, it should be next week or early the following week."

In other news from the meeting, several Fisher Industries representatives appeared before the board to discuss the company's plan to transport a hanger and fuel tank, which would be placed on a rented lot on the facility's airfield.

Though no agreement was solidified Tuesday, the commission expressed a desire to let the project move forward, pending a number of details being worked out.

Tim Priebe, Fisher's general counsel, said the company has zeroed in on a hanger currently in Libby, Mont., which would be moved to the Dickinson airport grounds.

Also during the meeting, Remynse said the airport served 4,351 passengers for the month of September, which he said represents a new record.

"Historically, September has always been lower than August," Remynse said. "To see September above August is a really good thing. Now, we're going into our busiest months. October is historically our busiest month, followed by December and November."
