Airport Information Network

PASSUR Aerospace, Inc. announces the launch of the National Airport Information Network — a new, single, national website where airlines, airports, the FAA, and other key aviation constituencies can manage disruptions due to weather, congestion, and other irregular operations. The program builds on PASSUR capabilities in diversion management, tarmac delay management, and field condition reporting, consolidating them into a new single national program that: proactively pushes alerts about changes in airport status and other important instant messaging from airport operators; tracks actual diversions, both those currently on the ground and en route; and provides a single source to track, alert, and manage tarmac delayed flights —either by airport, system-wide, or both;

G1000 Training App

Sporty's G1000 course teaches how to be safe, proficient, and comfortable with Garmin's G1000 glass cockpit. In addition to nearly two hours of in-depth video content, the app also includes Garmin's complete Cockpit Reference Guide, two G1000 Training Course Outlines (student and instructor versions), G1000 simulator software for download, and a review quiz. Using an easy-to-navigate visual menu system to test knowledge, the Garmin G1000 app is divided into 16 individual video segments for quick review. In all, the app contains almost two hours of scenario-based training and in-flight video;

Interactive E-Catalog

Haskel International Inc., manufacturer of BuTech high pressure valves, fittings, and tubing, announces the launch of an interactive e-catalog which features the complete selection of standard BuTech high pressure valve and component products. The e-catalog’s navigation menu walks users through a selection process using formula-assisted parameter selection, full/partial product number, or description/ keyword. It also includes side-by-side comparison functionality, downloadable product details pages, and an RFQ Cart;

PCI Compliance

SITA announces that it has achieved Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) certification as a service provider of its common-use platform AirportConnect Open. PCI DSS is the security standard developed by American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, MasterCard Worldwide, and Visa Inc. to provide fraud protection to their cardholders. Any organization that processes, stores or transmits cardholder data is required to comply with the security standards. SITA is the first service provider of a common-use passenger processing system to be listed as capable of meeting the global security requirements;

Virtual Assistants

Dubai Airports has implemented four bilingual ‘virtual assistants’ at Dubai International Airport to communicate travel information to passengers that pass through the terminal. The digital signage solutions use the latest in rear-projected audio visual technology to create the illusion of a real person, conveying security and brand messages. The virtual assistants have been created by queue management company, Tensator;

Wait Time Technology

ARINC Managed Services (AMS) announces it has entered a strategic partnership with Amor Group to offer Amor’s BLIPTrack wait time solution to the North American aviation market. ARINC Managed Services will leverage its airport IT resources throughout North America to provide a delivery and support network for the Amor PAXPath+ suite of airport technologies, including BLIPTrack automated wait time measurement;
