Indy Airport Welcomes New Sun King Tap Room

Oct. 23, 2020

As part of its long-term strategy to optimize the Indianapolis International Airport (IND) for the community and showcase products and tastes that represent an experience that is unique to Indy, the Indianapolis Airport Authority officially welcomes the new Sun King Tap Room to its robust line up of food and beverage locations.

On Oct. 23, travelers departing and arriving out of Concourse B at the Indy airport were treated to samples inside of the 1,000-square-foot beer-garden-inspired Tap Room that will offer 16 taps of Sun King favorites including core, seasonal, small batch, barrel-aged and sour beers. The family-friendly tap room will be open seven days a week and offer shareables, salads and sandwiches designed to complement Sun King’s award-winning beers, as well as wine selections, featured cocktails and Sun King’s new Hard Seltzers.

“When we count Indy’s numerous success stories, especially in the hospitality industry, Sun King tops the list,” said IAA Executive Director Mario Rodriguez. “Sun King products are a signature of Indy today, and a perfect addition to IND’s strategic offering of local brands that showcase the tastes and experiences that represent the spirit of Indianapolis.”

Shapiro’s, Harry & Izzy’s and Just Pop In! are also among the line-up of authentically Hoosier food and beverage offerings that welcome millions of travelers through the Indianapolis airport historically each year.

Sun King’s new airport tap room joins its original downtown Indianapolis brewery, Carmel distillery and Fishers, Broad Ripple and Kokomo tap rooms, providing yet another location where craft beer enthusiasts can gather and enjoy artisanal beverages.

“We’re excited to be the first new food and beverage concept to open up at the Indianapolis International Airport as part of their focus on local businesses to give millions of travelers the opportunity to experience our fresh, award-winning craft beer,” said Sun King co-founder and owner Clay Robinson.

Like in its other tap rooms and distillery, Sun King has also implemented pandemic health precautions at its airport location in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines.
