TSA PreCheck Expands to Include United Airlines and US Airways Carriers
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Transportation Security Administration issued the following news release:
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) today announced that TSA Preadzdz?" will expand to include United Airlines at Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) and US Airways at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA).
TSA Preadzdz?" is a pre-screening initiative that allows eligible passengers to volunteer information about themselves to expedite their screening experience. Eligible passengers may be referred to the TSA Preadzdz?" lane where they will undergo expedited screening, which could include being able to leave their shoes, light outerwear and belts on, allowing them to keep their laptops in their cases and 3-1-1 compliant liquids/gels bags in their carry-on.

"By learning more about travelers through information they voluntarily provide, and combining that information with our other layers of security, we can focus more resources on higher-risk and unknown passengers. Expanding TSA Preadzdz?" underscores our strong commitment to developing and deploying innovative security solutions to protect the nation's transportation systems."
More than 1.5 million passengers have received expedited screening through TSA Preadzdz?" security lanes since the initiative began in October 2011. TSA Preadzdz?" is currently available in 16 airports for U.S. citizens who are select frequent flyers of participating airlines or members of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Trusted Traveler programs and traveling within the U.S. Individuals interested in applying for one of CBP's programs should visit www.globalentry.gov. United Airlines and US Airways join American Airlines, Alaska Airlines and Delta Air Lines in offering the benefits of TSA Pradzdz?" to their eligible frequent travelers.
TSA Preadzdz?" is part of a continuing effort to implement a risk-based approach to transportation security. In addition to TSA Preadzdz?", there are now modified screening procedures for passengers 12 and younger and 75 and older at airports nationwide. TSA has also expanded TSA Preadzdz?" benefits to active duty U.S. military members traveling through DCA and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
TSA will always incorporate random and unpredictable security measures throughout the airport and no individual will be guaranteed expedited screening.
