B&H Worldwide Introduces Students to Aerospace Logistics Through Podcast Project
B&H Worldwide has partnered with Temasek Polytechnic’s School of Business in Singapore on a student project designed to provide hands-on exposure to the aerospace logistics industry.
Over 12 weeks, second-year Communications & Media Management students worked with B&H Worldwide on a graded assignment requiring them to research aerospace logistics, develop a story angle, interview industry experts and produce a 10-minute audio documentary.
B&H Worldwide provided access to subject matter experts from its global operations, allowing students to learn about an industry many had little previous knowledge of. Podcast topics included cross-border logistics, supply chain disruption, risk management, the people behind global logistics and the balance between speed and safety.
Students also identified target audiences and developed promotional strategies for their completed documentaries.
“This collaboration gave students the opportunity to work with a genuine B2B challenge and an industry that many of them had never encountered before,” said Wei Koon Goh, group head of marketing at B&H Worldwide. “Aerospace logistics can be complex, but the students showed that with curiosity, research and creativity, they could turn specialist knowledge into stories that people want to hear.”
The program concluded with the B&H Worldwide x CMM Audio Production Podcast Awards, which showcased leading student productions and recognized the top three projects.
“The students had to step into a sector that was unfamiliar to many of them, ask better questions, understand complex subject matter and then turn what they learned into a story worth listening to,” said Li Yann Long, course chair for Communications & Media Management at Temasek Polytechnic School of Business. “Working with a real industry partner gave them an experience that is difficult to replicate in the classroom.”
The collaboration provided students with practical experience working with an aviation industry client while introducing future communications and marketing professionals to career opportunities and operations within the aerospace sector.
