The City of Phoenix Aviation Department has appointed Kim Brown as airport manager of Phoenix Deer Valley Airport (DVT), succeeding longtime manager Ed Faron following his retirement after nearly 24 years of service.

Brown was selected through a nationwide search and brings nearly two decades of experience within the Phoenix Aviation Department. Most recently, she served as facilities and services superintendent at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, overseeing landside maintenance, fleet operations and the airport sign program. She previously led ground transportation operations, including contract management for rental car buses, taxi services and the PHX Sky Train.

Before joining the city, Brown spent 10 years in aviation roles including flight instructor, flight training program manager and chief ground instructor, giving her direct ties to the Deer Valley aviation community.

In her new role, Brown will oversee operations at one of the busiest general aviation airports in the United States, which recorded nearly 500,000 takeoffs and landings in 2025. She will focus on maintaining operational performance while strengthening relationships with tenants, regulators and industry partners as the airport continues to grow as a hub for corporate aviation and flight training.

Brown holds a degree in professional aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and is a certified member of the American Association of Airport Executives.
