Lufthansa Marks 25 Years of Service at Denver International Airport
Lufthansa is celebrating 25 years of continuous service at Denver International Airport (DEN), marking a milestone in one of the airport’s longest-standing international partnerships.
Since launching service in 2001, the airline has connected Denver to its Frankfurt hub, helping establish the airport as a key gateway between the Rocky Mountain region and Europe. Lufthansa remains DEN’s longest-tenured foreign carrier offering direct service to continental Europe.
Airport officials said the partnership has played a significant role in expanding international connectivity, supporting business travel, tourism and economic ties between Colorado and global markets.
Lufthansa currently serves Denver with nonstop flights to both Frankfurt and Munich, reinforcing the airport’s role in the airline’s North American network. The Munich route, which launched a decade ago, has grown in importance, including seasonal deployment of the Airbus A380 to increase capacity during peak travel periods.
The A380 is scheduled to return to Denver for the summer season, reflecting continued demand for long-haul international travel and the viability of large aircraft operations in secondary U.S. markets.
For airport operators, the milestone underscores the long-term value of international airline partnerships and the role of consistent service in building global connectivity and economic impact.
Denver International Airport continues to expand its international footprint, with Lufthansa’s sustained presence serving as a foundation for broader global air service growth.
