Munich Airport CEO Jost Lammers Named Chair of ACI World Governing Board
Airports Council International (ACI) World has named Jost Lammers, CEO of Munich Airport, as Chair of the ACI World Governing Board for the 2026–2027 term, marking a leadership transition at the global airport trade association.
Lammers succeeds Candace McGraw, retired CEO of Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG), who concludes her term after serving as ACI World’s first woman Chair. During her tenure, McGraw helped steer the organization through a period of heightened global advocacy and strategic development.
The ACI World Governing Board is composed of 28 airport chief executives nominated by ACI’s five regions. The board provides strategic direction on global airport policy, operational priorities, sustainability initiatives, and innovation on behalf of airports worldwide.
Lammers has served on the ACI World Governing Board since 2019 and held the role of Vice Chair from 2024 to 2025. He also served on the board of ACI EUROPE from 2017 to 2023 and was elected President of ACI EUROPE in 2019, a role in which he helped guide European airports through the operational and financial challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since January 2020, Lammers has served as CEO of Munich Airport, one of Europe’s largest international hubs, overseeing operations focused on service quality, innovation, and sustainable airport development. Prior to joining Munich Airport, he was CEO of Budapest Liszt Ferenc Airport beginning in 2008, leading major modernization and growth initiatives.
Earlier in his career, Lammers served as President of the German Aviation Association, representing airlines, airports, air navigation service providers, ground handling companies, and aviation-related businesses across Germany. He began his aviation career in 1998 with HOCHTIEF AirPort GmbH, contributing to airport development projects in Düsseldorf and Athens, including the opening of Athens International Airport.
“His global experience and deep understanding of airport operations and policy come at a pivotal moment for the industry,” said ACI World Director General Justin Erbacci, noting the importance of leadership as airports advance innovation, resilience, and sustainability.
Lammers said his focus as Chair will be on strengthening ACI World’s leadership role through advocacy, effective governance, and collaboration with global partners, supporting airports as they evolve to meet future mobility and economic demands.
