In Texas, Plainview Council Approves Contracts with Tradewind FBO
Jun. 30—The Plainview City Council approved a fixed base operator agreement with Tradewind FBO, LLC to manage the Plainview/Hale County Airport.
The agreement was approved this week during a regular scheduled meeting.
City Manager Jeffrey Snyder said Rocket Aviation's fixed base operator contract is set to expire in August. When the city and county requested proposals for a new company, Tradewind FBO, LLC out of Amarillo responded.
Council members unanimously accepted it.
The agreement is for five years with the option to renew for five more. Tradewind FBO will receive a $75,000 annual base compensation and a 20% of all hangar rental fees.
This week, the Council also approved an economic development agreement between the Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone #1 Historic Downtown Plainview (TIRZ) and Higginbotham Insurance for façade improvements.
The funding will be used toward the cost of removing stucco to expose the bricks on the north side of the building. Plans are in the works to eventually have a community mural painted on the side of the building.
