Small Airplane Slides on Runway at John Glenn Columbus International Airport; No Injuries

March 11, 2021

A small airplane having issues with its nose gear slid along the runway when it landed Wednesday morning at John Glenn Columbus International Airport and the propeller struck the runway, according to airport officials.

No injuries were reported. The airport's south runway was closed temporarily while emergency units responded and the airport could clear the plane from the runway.

Planes landing and taking off from John Glenn were diverted to the north runway, the airport said. A couple of flights were delayed for about 15 minutes, but traffic otherwise was normal, the airport reported.

The plane landed shortly after 9 a.m. Wednesday.
