Officials at Oakland International Airport (OAK) announce Nov. 27, that beginning April 3, American Airlines will fly between OAK and Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) with daily nonstop service. The new link is significant for Bay Area residents in that it provides OAK with roughly 100 unique connections currently not possible through American’s Phoenix hub.

American offers more than 760 daily flights from DFW, serving more than 200 destinations in 31 countries.

American’s new Dallas-Oakland service will commence in April with daily nonstop flights departing Dallas-Fort Worth at 9:10 a.m., arriving at Oakland at 10:57 a.m. The return flight departs OAK at 11:50 a.m. and arrives back in Dallas at 5:20 p.m. (all times are local).

“New domestic and international service at OAK continues to strengthen its attractiveness as a gateway to/from Europe, Mexico, and points across the U.S.,” said Port of Oakland Director of Aviation, Bryant L. Francis. “We’re pleased that American has recognized the potential for success on this route, as travelers in both regions will benefit greatly from the convenient access. The extensive list of unique nonstop markets available via DFW make it possible to reach numerous markets not currently accessible with a single connection from OAK. The significance of this flight addition is substantial."

The new service announcement comes as Oakland International is in the midst of increasing levels of passenger traffic and nonstop destinations.
