DEN Celebrates Denver Culture
The summer is almost over, but the fun continues at Denver International Airport (DEN) on Aug. 20 with a free full-day event celebrating Colorado’s bike-friendly culture with a display of Colorado-made cruisers, electric bikes and innovative bikes, along with a “Wish for Wheels” charity build-a-bike station. DEN invites those who are traveling to come early and others who live in the Denver metro area to hop on the train and spend some time enjoying free, family-friendly activities on the airport’s new stunning open-air plaza.
The “Wheels Up!,” event will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the airport’s open-air plaza that connects that Westin Denver International Airport to the Jeppesen Terminal. It will feature a bike skills course complete with loaner bikes, BMX bike team demonstrations, New Belgium Brewing tasting stations, along with raffle prizes, a DJ and more. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase.
The plaza is located pre-security, is open to the public and is accessible just steps from the new University of Colorado A Line station at DEN (tickets are $9 and good for multiple trips during the same business day), or a short walk from the airport parking garages ($3/hour).
