Rick Murdock, vice president of sales and casino marketing for the Eldorado Resort Casino, and airport trustee since 2009, has been named the new chairman of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA).

Murdock has an extensive work history with the Eldorado going back to 1981, which he brings to the chairmanship of the nine-member airport board that oversees the operation of the 66th busiest commercial airport in the nation.

Murdock has served as the Air Service Liaison since 2011, and has a true passion for Air Service. With his assistance, the Air Service Development team has successfully added 11 new flights at Reno-Tahoe International in the past 14 months.

Murdock, appointed by the city of Reno, is looking forward to chairing the board of an entity that plays such a vital role in the community.

“The airport is an essential economic engine for our entire region,” said Murdock. “Without a well-run airport, there would be fewer people our ski slopes, on our casino floors or inside our businesses. From passenger flights to cargo and general aviation, I am looking forward to working with our board, staff and community to enhance all aspects of the airport operation.”

Other Board Officers for Fiscal year 2016-17 include: Andy Wirth, Vice-Chair; Jessica Sferrazza, Secretary; Lisa Gianoli, Treasurer; and members Nat Carasali, Jerry Hall, William “Bill” Eck, Adam R. Mayberry and Jenifer Rose.
