Team USA Enjoys Athlete Lounge in ATL Ahead of Flight to Pan American Games in Chile
Team USA is on the path to the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024, taking flight over the past few days to the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile through ATL.
As the Official Airline of Team USA, Delta welcomed the athletes to our hometown airport ahead of their departures to Chile. Delta hosted a customized athlete lounge in the ATL International Terminal on Sunday and Monday for athletes to enjoy rest, relaxation and nutrition prior to boarding their long-haul flight.
The athlete lounge, where amenities were specifically designed to help them mentally and physically prepare for the competition provided a number of curated options, includes:
Tools and equipment for their health and overall wellness (e.g., stretching and rolling equipment, massage chairs, etc.).
Nutritious food and beverage offerings created with Team USA nutritionists to maintain high-performance diet options.
Areas to celebrate and unwind ahead of competition.
Delta will recreate the experience for Team USA athletes ahead of the Parapan American Games in mid-November.
“The road to Paris 2024 is underway, and all eyes are on Team USA as they continue their journey to next summer with the Pan American and Parapan American Games,” said Emmakate Young, Managing Director of Brand Marketing and Sponsorships. “Whether we are supporting our athletes on the world’s biggest stage or in the airport ahead of boarding, we know the journey begins long before they reach the podium, and Delta is proud to be a part of the team behind their success.”
Creating a space for Team USA ahead of the Pan American and Parapan American Games is one of many ways Delta is planning to support Olympic and Paralympic athletes on the road to Paris 2024. Travel is an essential element of athlete competition and plays an important role in ensuring Team USA athletes keep climbing toward their goals.
“Team USA athletes spend countless hours preparing for competition with a goal of representing Team USA on an international stage, and that dream is becoming a reality for so many athletes,” said USOPC CEO Sarah Hirshland. “It is special and evident that our partners at Delta recognize that long journey and aim to support athletes so they can perform at their best as they represent the United States.”
