Georgian Company Eyes Building of Airdrome in Outskirts of Tbilisi

April 15, 2021

Apr. 14—The construction of the New Aeroclub 1*209 is hampered due to the local legislation in Georgia, Trend reports via Georgian media.

The club was registered in 2020 and within the project, it was planned to build an aerodrome in the outskirts of Tbilisi.

"At this stage, the project is hampered by the legislative problems. A document is being prepared to allow private persons to register aircraft," said the author of the idea Ilya Injiya.

"Members of our aviation club wanted to buy small aircraft, but as it turned out, the local legislation does not register small private aircraft," he explains.

According to Injia, work is underway on a bill that will solve this problem.

"We have 4 planes, the club will operate at a private airfield in Kakheti owned by the Georgian businessmen. We will use it until our own aviation club is built," Injia notes. — Follow the author on Twitter: @Mila61979356
