Iran Boosts Its Exports Via Isfahan Province Airport
The value of Iran’s exports via the Shahid Beheshti Airport of Isfahan Province increased more than 8 times during the first 5 months of the current Iranian year (March 20 through August 21, 2020) compared to the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019, to March 20, 2020), Director General for Isfahan Province Customs Office, Rasoul Kuhestani said, Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
Kuhestani stressed that agricultural and food goods worth $6.5 million were exported through Shahid Beheshti Airport over five months.
Kuhestani added that however, about $780,000 worth of agricultural and food goods were exported in the last Iranian year.
The director-general noted that in total, 686,000 tons of products worth about $295 million were exported through the customs of Isfahan Province within five months.
"Cast iron, steel, and related products worth $110 million (37 percent of total exports), petrochemical products worth $55.3 million (19 percent of total exports), carpets worth $23.3 million (8 percent of total exports), milk and dairy products worth $20.9 million (7 percent of total exports) and rubber products worth $10.3 million(3 percent of total exports) were the main exported goods," he stated.
According to the director-general, the goods were exported to 66 countries through the customs of Isfahan Province. Thus, the goods worth $116 million were exported to Iraq, $73 million to Afghanistan, $27 million to Pakistan, $10 million to Myanmar, and $9 million to Turkey.
