Ex-PDEA Chief Aquino Get Clark Airport Post

President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed outgoing Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) chief Aaron Aquino as head of the Clark International Airport Corp., Malacañang announced on Wednesday. Palace spokesman Harry Roque Jr. confirmed the appointment of Aquino as a member of the Board of Directors of the Clark International Airport Corp. after it was announced that Wilkins Villanueva was named PDEA chief on Tuesday. “Mr. Aquino’s nomination as the president/CEO (chief executive officer) of Clark International Airport Corp. has been approved by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and is now forwarded to the aforesaid corporation’s Board of Directors,” he said. The spokesman clarified in a television interview that Aquino was not sacked, but was moved to another government office. A former police official, Aquino served PDEA for more than two years before he was moved to his new post.
