Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport intends to resume airport operations on Tuesday after noon with Hurricane Dorian expected to bypass South Florida.
Confirmation for the reopening will come at 10 a.m. on Tuesday morning, the airport announced on Monday night via Twitter.
“Broward County intends to resume airport operations on Tuesday, September 3, after 12 Noon,” FLL’s tweeted travel advisory stated. "The airport reopening will be confirmed at 10AM. We ask that you do not come to the airport before 10AM. Please confirm with your airline that your flight has been scheduled prior to coming to the airport.
“Access to the parking garages to retrieve vehicles will also not be allowed before 10 AM. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to restore airport operations while keeping the safety of employees and travelers in mind.”
Palm Beach International Airport announced on Monday night it will be monitoring Hurricane Dorian on Tuesday and possibly restore limited airline operations.
“We are closely monitoring Hurricane Dorian & working [with] airlines to restore limited airline operations on 9/3, as soon as conditions safely permit,” the airport’s Twitter account released. “No official opening decided. Don’t come to PBI in anticipation of [your] flight until airlines confirm departure. Check [with your] airline.”
Miami International Airport remained open on Monday with some flight cancellations.
Tri-Rail trains remain suspended on Tuesday after being closed on Monday.
The Tri-Rail Twitter account posted on Monday night: “The process to restore service will begin on Tuesday morning, with the goal to have all of the crossing gates back in place and ready for Wednesday.”
