SAT Wins Industry Customer Service Award
SAN ANTONIO (Feb. 29, 2016) – Today, Airports Council International (ACI) announced the winners of their 2015 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards and San Antonio International Airport has tied for third place in the Best Airport by Region – North America category of the 2015 Airport Quality Survey. With 8.5 million served last year, SAT is in the category with airports that serve more than 2 million passengers each year.
“Customer experience is a priority to us here at SAT, a critical component to success in today’s competitive market it’s our goal to keep raising the bar. The ASQ survey is a tool we use to see how we are doing against other airports in Texas and around the world. This award reinforces that our efforts continue to be successful,” said Aviation Director Tom Jones.
The world’s premier passenger service benchmarking program for airports, ASQ delivered over 550,000 in-depth passenger surveys at over 300 airports across more than 80 countries worldwide last year. The 2015 results represent the world’s best in class airports where improving the customer experience is concerned—apprised by passengers while they are traveling and the experience is fresh in their minds.
“Airports’ increasing concentration on ensuring a stellar passenger experience is part of a larger trend,” noted Angela Gittens, Director General, ACI World. “Airports have evolved into complex, customer-focused businesses in their own right that in many cases are in competition with each other for passenger traffic. From duty free and restaurants to ambience, cleanliness, courtesy of staff, amenities, efficiency and more, air travelers are expecting big things from the airports through which they travel. More than anything, ASQ is a way for participants to measure the extent to which they deliver on these expectations.”
In 2014 and 2013, San Antonio also won the ACI ASQ Award for Best Improvement – North American Airport.
