PA: General Aviation Pilots at Erie Airport Feel Unwanted

General aviation pilots are upset about action by Airport Authority Board that imposed a $2,000 fee for mechanics that work on their aircraft.

Some general aviation pilots at Erie International Airport are feeling like they are not wanted. They believe the airport authority and its new executive director are trying to force them out.

The Erie Regional Airport Authority voted today to place requirements on mechanics who service general aviation aircraft at Erie International. The mechanics must pay a $2,000 annual licensing fee and must meet an insurance requirement of $1 million.  The pilots believe that's unfair.
