AMOR Group has secured a six-figure contract to measure queues using Bluetooth signals at two airports in Italy.

The company s transport division, based at Inchinnan near Glasgow Airport, will use its ChromaACDB (Airport Collaboration Database) at Malpensa and Linate in Milan.

The technology tracks the mobile phone signals of passengers to monitor journey and queuing times in the terminals. That information is then fed back to operator SEA so it can identify busy areas.

Malpensa is Italy s second-largest airport and handles around 19 million passengers a year.

Martin Bowman, sector director of transport at Amor Group, said: This is a six-figure deal initially for two years but with room for extension and represents a significant addition to our portfolio of more than 30 airports around the globe that use our passenger tracking technologies.

The system provides greater insight into the passenger journey, allowing airport management to effectively resource in line with demand.

Giorgio Medici, head of customer care at SEA, said: Implementing passenger tracking technology will help us to deliver a premier experience within our terminals while allowing the airport to manage our resources effectively.

Amor already works for Dubai Airports, London Heathrow and Manchester Airport Group.
