BAA profit takes off

THE owner of Heathrow and Stansted airports posted an 8.8% jump in underlying earnings to £555.2m for the first half of the year. BAA, which is part-owned by Spain's Ferrovial, lifted revenues by 8.4% to £1.16bn. Heathrow, which saw a 2.2% increase in passengers to 33.6m.
