Greenboro's aviation industry gets spotlight
Greensboro's aviation industry is more than just Piedmont Triad International Airport.
And the Greensboro Economic Development Alliance and the airport authority hope to spread the word, collaborating with US Airways magazine to spotlight the area's thriving aviation industry.
Piedmont Triad is featured in a 14-page Industry Spotlight that will be seen by more than 6 million people who travel during the month of July.
The July edition of the in-flight publication highlights the area's manufacturers, suppliers and service providers and the availability of specialized training to support the robust aviation community.
"The timing ... couldn't be better," said Jim Phillips, chairman of the Greensboro Economic Development Alliance. "(The feature) will capture the attention of domestic and international audiences - particularly aviation executives traveling to the UK for the Farnborough International Airshow in early July."
In addition to the 120,000-plus iconic global trade-show visitors, the publication also will be in front of those heading to London for the 2012 Summer Olympics.
The feature lends itself well to the alliance's message of "Aviation Thrives Here, So Can You." It will be available on usairwaysmag.com for a year and reprints will be used throughout the year in conjunction with marketing efforts.
