No Information Loss Following Cyber Attacks on CNAB Websites
May 2—BUCHAREST — The servers that manage the websites of the Bucharest National Airports Company (CNAB) have been subjected to repeated cyber attacks in recent days, but no information has been lost, CNAB announced on Monday.
"In the last few days, the servers that manage CNAB websites have been subjected to repeated cyber attacks. The attacks were DDoS (distributed denial of service), with the latest affecting the functioning of bucharestairports.ro website, in the first hours of May 2, 2022. For a few hours, this site was inaccessible to the public, but, starting with the morning of the same day, the normal operation was restored through the collaboration between CNAB specialists and those of the company that ensures its hosting and maintenance," informs the company.
According to the quoted source, no information was lost and the e-mail server was not affected.
The National Cybersecurity Directorate (DNSC) has warned that Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) cyber attacks, namely phishing and spear-phishing propagated by email or messaging platforms, claimed by the pro-Russian group Killnet and directed at Romanian web sites, will continue.
According to the quoted source, the cyber attackers send messages by email, WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram, Messenger, Slack, etc. claiming to be a reliable source/person in order to persuade potential victims to disclose confidential information, personal data or to take action that allow attackers to gain control over IT infrastructure or devices.
