Albany Airport Installs UV Sanitizing for Smart Phones
Mar. 11—COLONIE — Albany International Airport has installed and is testing ultraviolet smartphone sanitizers at three locations for traveleers. The devices, made by a company called Cleanslate, will sanitize a smartphone in 20 seconds, the airport said in a release.
"Smart phones have been shown to carry a variety of viruses and bacteria that can be easily transferred to other touch surfaces. The installation of the UV-C Light cell phone sanitizers is one more step in the Airport Authority's goal of maintaining a safe, COVID-free environment for our air travelers and our staff," said airport CEO Philip Calderone.
