West Coast airline passenger service provider expands service offerings throughout the East Coast.

Pacific Aviation, a leading West Coast airline passenger services provider, has acquired Superior Aircraft Services, a provider of ground handling and passenger services along the Atlantic Coast. This allows Pacific Aviation to provide a complete range of services to international and domestic airlines across the U.S.

For more than 25 years, Pacific Aviation has provided the world’s leading airlines with passenger handling services, including check-in, ticketing, cleaning, baggage services and flight operations.

“Pacific Aviation has created a rich tradition of the highest level of customer service while simultaneously creating a family environment among our employees,” said Phil Shah, Pacific Aviation founder. “Our goal remains the same, to continue providing the highest degree of personal care at every airport that we enter.”

Together, Pacific Aviation and Superior will serve 10 airports, including international hubs such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Boston and Fort Lauderdale, as well as smaller airports along the Atlantic Coast. The range of customers will now span full-service and discount carriers, both internationally and domestically.

“Integrating these two service-focused companies provides an amazing opportunity to continuously improve the customer experience and to create additional growth opportunities for our staff,” said Joe Conlon, Pacific Aviation’s executive vice president of Corporate Development. “Not only can we now service customers above and below the wing, but we can provide the same high standard of quality from coast to coast.”

Superior has historically led with wheelchair services, but its success has allowed it to follow customer demand into cabin cleaning, baggage handling and ramp services.

“Pacific Aviation is giving us an incredible opportunity for growth and to explore even more opportunities to follow our customers into new stations,” said Danny Pyne, chief operating officer of Superior Aircraft Services. “The investment that we’re receiving is going to provide us with immediate benefits as well as long-term expansion that we never thought possible.”

Barry Korman, current owner of Superior Aviation Services, will transition to retirement, but all other members of the Pacific Aviation and Superior Airport Services teams will remain in their positions.
