Japan Airlines Announces Revisions to International Network Plan for August and September 2020

Japan Airlines (JAL) today announced revisions to its flight frequency plans for the two months between August and September 2020. Key highlights include:

  • Return of Roundtrip Service between Narita-Boston
  • Temporarily Reinstate One-way Service from Los Angeles to Osaka Kansai
  • Increase Service between Haneda-Paris and Narita-Frankfurt, Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh, Hanoi and Manila
  • Extra flights between Haneda-Honolulu to serve essential travel needs for students, workers stationed abroad, and citizens returning to/from Japan

Operation of Cargo Flights

While scheduled commercial passenger flights will be reduced, the Company announced plans to operate cargo-only flights on select routes to help keep business moving throughout the world. According to the plan, JAL will operate approximately 800 cargo-only flights each month by utilizing passenger aircraft on routes to North America, Europe, Southeast Asia, East Asia and Oceania.

The carrier will continue to review travel restrictions within each destination and update its international network plan, while asking for our customer`s understanding during this unprecedented time.
