Cabo Verde Airlines to Commence New Dulles International Service to Sal

Service begins in Dec. with three nonstop flights per week.

Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) announced that Cabo Verde Airlines will begin nonstop service between Sal, Cabo Verde’s Amílcar Cabral International Airport (SID) and Dulles International with three flights per week, beginning, Dec. 8. Passengers on this new route will travel nonstop aboard Boeing’s 757 aircraft, as the airline builds its Sal hub to create even more opportunities for travel between the United States and West Africa. Washington, D.C., becomes Cabo Verde Airlines’ second U.S. gateway.

“As the only airline offering nonstop service between the National Capital Region and Cabo Verde, Cabo Verde Airlines will provide travelers with unprecedented accessibility to the country’s popular leisure destinations, as well as convenient connections to West Africa, South America and beyond,” said Yil Surehan, vice president of airline business development for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.
