Faithful+Gould Awarded ENR Texas & Louisiana Best Project Award for United Terminal C

Aug. 31, 2017

Faithful+Gould announced that the Terminal C North Program at George Bush Intercontinental Airport Houston (IAH) has been awarded with a Best Project Award by the Engineering News-Record (ENR) Texas & Louisiana region in the category of 'Airport/Transit projects'.

Faithful+Gould successfully managed the 264,000-square-foot program in conjunction with VRX Inc. and JLA Construction Solutions on behalf of United Airlines (United).

"The United Terminal C project incorporated a wide range of moving parts prior to completion," said Faithful+Gould Project Executive Ashley Hough. "We are extremely proud to have delivered the project under budget, and to be recognized for our dedicated involvement."

Built by Manhattan Construction Co., the program was split into two phases: the terminal building, valued at approximately $260 million; and the ramp, fueling and utilities portion, valued at about $85 million. The two-level terminal building includes 14 gates with new jet bridges, as well as a dynamic design with new restaurants, food court and retail outlets.

The ramp portion of the project involved the removal and replacement of approximately 24 acres of concrete apron paving surrounding the new concourse. Faithful+Gould verified that all required site utilities were provided, including, but not limited to, chilled and hot water, electrical, domestic water, fire water, sanitary sewer and drainage to the new concourse.

The award will be presented at a luncheon on Oct. 18, at the JW Marriott Houston in Houston.
