Avelo Marks 3 Years, Plans Expansion of Service

May 20, 2024

May 19—Avelo Airlines celebrated three years of connecting the Humboldt County airport in McKinleyville with the Burbank airport in Southern California. Flight between the two locations began in May 2021, and since then, Avelo has operated more than 1,000 flights serving more than 135,000 customers, the company announced in a press release.

" Avelo Airlines has accomplished their goal to inspire travel in unprecedented ways for the Humboldt community and visitors to the greater Eureka/ Arcata region," Humboldt County Director of Aviation Cody Roggatz said in the release. "We celebrate our 3-year partnership with Avelo and look forward to many more years of providing economical and reliable Avelo service at ACV."

Avelo flies nonstop from ACV to BUR on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Based on increasing demand, Avelo is adding Wednesdays to this route. In September, Avelo will add Saturdays.

"This has been one of our most popular West Coast routes since Avelo took flight three years ago," Avelo Airlines CEO Andrew Levy said in a prepared statement. "The growth in demand we have continued to serve is a testament to the affordability, convenience, and reliability we have introduced to Humboldt County travelers."
